Pondering the holiday season

Here is an excerpt with the Wayne Dyer quote
Remember that the world around us is not so much what it is, but how we perceive it. Dr. Wayne Dyer’s philosophy is “Change the way you see things and things will change.” We choose to see a rosy 2005 for all.

Borrowing more wisdom from Dr. Dyer, remember that “Everything you need you already have … you cannot always control what goes on outside, but you can always control what goes on inside; and (if you are alone this holiday) you cannot be lonely if you like the person you’re alone with.”

Dear Chris,
Here is an article I wrote which was published in a local newspaper here in San Diego, California last January, 2004 that I think is still relevant for this new year. May you find this worthwhile to print.

Thank you so much and may God bless you always.

We Can Foresee A Peaceful, Prosperous year With Faith

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Year in and year out, we hear this greeting from everybody. We wish everyone a Happy New Year. We wished this at the start of 2004, remember? But if we look back, we would find that it wasn't really a happy new year that has just ended. There had been countries at war and still are. Calamities of great proportion such as typhoons, floods, earthquakes, wildfires have engulfed some regions throughout the world.(Not to mention the recent earthquake that rocked great parts of Southeast Asia resulting in the deaths of thousands upon thousands of people.)

Much as we felt saddened about these events that have befallen our fellow human beings far and wide, all we could do was pray for them, send some donations and try our best to alleviate some of their sufferings. We realized that we have no control over what the forces of Nature can do.
But with faith in our hearts we can move on and visualize a more peaceful and prosperous year.

This New Year, we don't know what's ahead of us. But we can focus all our energies on creating a virtual world of serenity. ( As Dr. Wayne Dyer says "In my world, nothing ever goes wrong." ) Instead of wasting our time on worthless pursuits, let us do our part to make this world a better place to live in, not only for ourselves but for everyone. Let us help in preserving our natural resources, conserving water, avoiding waste of any kind.

Let us endeavor to create loving, harmonious relationships. Let us step out with confidence that our loving God is with us all the way. Let us pray that there may be an end to all conflicts; that instead of hatred, may Love reign supreme in everyone's heart. Let us remember that we are all one. We are not separate from God. As God is Love, let us love one another.

Dear Chris,

Thanks a lot for your kind reply.

Of course if you have faith in Self, that means you have faith in God/Higher Power.

As Jesus said, "I and my Father are One...that they maybe One, as we are One." So we are all One. Logically speaking, Faith in Self and Faith in God is the same. (Am I making any sense? )
