I understand how thought patterns affect what is happening in a persons life and that changing negatives to positives can change your life in a positive way.
What about collective thought patterns? For example, if there are several people living within a household and the majority seem to hold a negative thought pattern in regard to a particular subject......how will it affect the person who has a positive thought pattern regarding that subject?

The positive thinking person must simply ignore the negativity of others. The thought of another can not be given to you, but you can begin to think like others if you so choose. Stay with your thought - be positive about it - and do not begin to think about being right or wrong - it is not about that. It is about being peaceful or not having peace at all. Your call.

If I can turn away from Wayne Dyer for a minute and refer to Neale Donald Walsh. In the Conversation with God series, it does note that collective thoughts can influence the direction of life. In later books his channelings describe that it only takes a 2% shift in the collective consciousness to steer life in a different direction.
So, if you are in a family of 5, you are 20% of that collective group. It only takes one person, YOU, to have a positive effect on the whole family. Wayne Dyer's Power of Intention would provide the life skills to be able to do that.
Love and Light to you
this is from your quote about Walsh
"it only takes a 2% shift in the collective consciousness to steer life in a different direction."
Dyer will tell you without channeling, that it takes you but a thought within your mind to change your world. Each one of is responsible for the world we make, the world we see. The thought you have is instantaneous.

That quote reminds me of a book I read more than a decade ago called Hundredth Monkey
The concept was originally by Ken Keyes Jr.
-- and it was written at a time of collective thoughts of pending nuclear war and doom...but I do agree with his tenets that there is little downside to getting our collective planet of Humans to think "peace" rather than war.
On a personal side, it does not take 2% of the collective population of any humans to change your life as that is always in your control...or at least your perception of control.
How does one measure "collective consciousness" anyway... roll
Dyer refers to this book in "You'll See It When You Believe It" and he refers to it as his "second encounter with this oneness concept."
And I ask this question Is there such a thing as "collective consciousness" if we believe in the Oneness of all of us?

Thankyou for recommending that book. I am just on a huge growth curve at the moment and am hungry for more spiritual food. I recently attended the Angel Intuitive Course by Doreen Virtue this past weekend. The Hundredth Monkey will just take a back seat while I still digest all of the clarity Doreen provided.
