Good morning all,

I am new on the path and have much to learn. I have taken my first steps and I need some more education and practice.

What is your best advice for giving up ego? I am dealing with a negative, sometimes imature person at work. (not to judge) I know we all have different journeys in life. How can I focus on my own and not someone else's attitude. Thank you very much

Kathryn,

Know without any doubt that you are independant from the opinion of others.

When you are around the negative person at work, know that they own 100% of all of their negativity and that you have chosen to not own any of it.

Truth is, when you focus on the other person's negativity, you're really focusing on your own ego's needs to judge them. Release that as an absurd thought and respond to this person with love.

Perhaps you could even ask this person leading questions designed to help them not be so negative...

The grumpier the person the brighter the name I choose for them. My favorite is always " Good Morning Sunshine" usually after some grumpy remark.

At least it makes them smile.

Thanks for you help. Your ideas have really helped. Today I have decided to chant "love" all day, and try to remeber that this person is helping me to learn a lesson. I am truly lucky that they are in my life because without them I may not have the opportunity to grow in this area. lol
