Hello All;
I have heard of Dr. Dyer for many years and scanned through some books and thought, well that looks good. I have never purchased any of them. I was watching his special on my local PBS station over this Thanksgiving weekend and have ordered two copies of the Power of Intention book.

I would like to ask for some assistance, and have some questions that I would love to hear your answers to;

1. Will this assist me finishing something from start to finish? (I always have great intentions, but can never seem to finish any project, book, or whatever I put my mind too)
2. I am a spiritual person, but don't practice consistently, will this help?
3. I would like to feel more secure, confident, and inner peace.
4. I am a Diabetic and again, I have my great days and not so great days in keeping that under control.

I live in the Northeast and would really like to be able to get help and give help here on the site.
Thank you to all those who have read this, and to those who have responded back, my heart and soul thanks you.

danh - it is indeed our privilege to have you here on this board - I see you as a new teacher here and believe me, your pupils are ready for you.
You asked some interesting, but not unique questions; questions that we have all asked at one time or another, or even still asking. Did you know that within every question lies the answer?

You asked
1. Will this assist me finishing something from start to finish? (I always have great intentions, but can never seem to finish any project, book, or whatever I put my mind too)

Nope! But it just may open your mind up to something new for you to try.
Being unable to finish anything is caused by some fear you hold within you. Perhaps you are a perfectionist and know it will never be perfect. Perhaps you fear completing something not knowing what you will do next. Perhaps you do not like new things to do. Only you can tell you why you will not finish anything. Strongly suggest you journal on this one and the answer will be there for you.

2. I am a spiritual person, but don't practice consistently, will this help?

Nope! The practice is up to you. You are responsible for it. And what do you mean by spiritual person?

3. I would like to feel more secure, confident, and inner peace.

Nope! What you do with what you read will result in how you will feel. Again these are excellent to journal on - always the answer comes through to you. Why do you feel insecure and about what? Why do you feel you lack confidence, and is this why you don't finish things? I am a firm believer in experiencing inner peace, but I do not believe in experiencing MORE inner peace - just inner peace. Have you ever felt what can be experienced while meditating to Dyer's cd on meditation or the gap?

4. I am a Diabetic and again, I have my great days and not so great days in keeping that under control.

Nope! In reading Dyer, just about any of his books, you will discover that you are in control of your life - you write the script - you are the star, the director, etc. You even are the extras in your life. And then you project that script - movie - onto the screen of the mind and believe in what you are seeing. Reading Dyer can certainly help you here, but again, you must do the work and the actions.

Again, glad to have you hear and I enjoyed your questions. Many of them I had when I first started reading Wayne.

Ron,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul. Your posting was exactly what I needed, but couldn't ask for it from someone that I knew for fear of what they would really say, and, would they be truthful with me.
You hit the nail on the head, your comments and points of suggestion, have really made me stop and really think about things.

It was great to have posted my first postings and within about 2 hours, get a response and such a response that I feel it's given me the determination and drive to go further and make it better, for me, for everyone I am in contact with.

Thank you again Ron!
Daryl

This is what a real family of Oneness is like! Glad you enjoyed.

Hi Dan... Nice to meet you. D

1. Will this assist me finishing something from start to finish? (I always have great intentions, but can never seem to finish any project, book, or whatever I put my mind too)
I know the feeling.

Perhaps you could just release the guilt you have from not finishing what you "think" you should be finishing and enjoy what you are accomplishing daily.

or... perhaps this can be solved by just raising your standards to the point where you don't accept anything less from yourself except for that which is your highest and most important intentions.

2. I am a spiritual person, but don't practice consistently, will this help?
How exactly do you practice being "spiritual"?

3. I would like to feel more secure, confident, and inner peace.
You can have this instantly whenever you DECIDE to have it and be it.

4. I am a Diabetic and again, I have my great days and not so great days in keeping that under control.
We all have crosses to bear... it's part of the human physical experience. I'd recommend looking at it as a challenge to overcome to set the example for others to be inspired or follow.

Again, welcome to the discussion and I'm glad you joined us.

Hi Dan, and welcome! Just a quick response to this for now

We are never finished...so don't worry about it. Life is an eternal journey of expansion.

Hi Daryl!

I read through your message and responses from a few spiritual teachers. I'd like to add a comment if I may which is not directly related to your questions but perhaps applies to your journey as a whole.

I've been reading and listening to Dyer intensively for about a year and one thing I love is that every time I re-listen to one of his CD's or pick up one of his books and re-read a passage, I always learn something new. I've realized that at each point in our life we are ready for different bits of information, ideas or teachings and perhaps the first 3 times we listen to that CD we don't pick up on that idea but that 4th time or 5th time, for whatever reason, we "hear" it and we grab on to it. I get such a kick out of this experience. I feel like I am moving forward with each new bit of information that speaks to me for the first time. Just perhaps you will also experience this joy as you continue your journey...

...and we are definitely on a journey and each step of the way there is something to learn and a chance to grow. I wish you thrilling growth spurts as you continue your travels.
