Allow me to introduce myself,

My name is glenn. I write under the name Otto Behrman, and have one book in print. I call it ONLY ONE TEAR MAY FALL.

I am 67 years old and am at an age when most men are searching for a rocking chair to sit in. Instead, I am looking for a mountain to climb.

Dyer is largely responsible for this attitude, but it doesn't come easily. It is very easy to relapse into old thinking. My first Dyer book was YOU'LL SEE IT WHEN YOU BELIEVE IT., and believe it or not, I am beginning to see a lot clearer.

My purpose for being here....simply stated, I need to associate with people who think a lot like I do.

Namaste,

glenn

Hi Glenn and welcome to a home of One MInd - we truly do all think alike. And speaking of minds, I like your attitude towards age - it is nothing more than a thought within our mind and can be very limiting. You have a lot more book within you - a lot more to teach and some more to learn. Stay with us and thank you for being here.

Hi Ron,

Thanks for the welcome and the kind words. Yeah, age is kind of irrelevant to anything that is really important. You mentioned concern for age being a limiting factor. You betcha! We humans limit ourselves far too much. For example,I was cruising one of the chat topics and read the comments of a woman who is dealing with the idea of hate.

Now, there is something that will limit the living heck out of us, but she has the right to be who she is, and the fact that she has asked the question means that she is looking for a different solution. A better one. Good for her!

Since hate is inspired by fear and fear is the opposite of love, it goes without saying that you can hate me, but you haven't won until I hate you. Still takes two to tango doesn't it?

Anyway, I don't want to make his thing too long. Just wanted to say thanks and to wish you well.

Glenn - thanks for your great comments and thoughts. You wrote
"We humans limit ourselves far too much." I think perhaps the biggest of all fears we have is time - we are so focused on time and yet time, like all fears, is an illusion. It is time that limits us - time that frightens us - time that pushes us so we can not pause and remember our truth.

You also wrote "Since hate is inspired by fear and fear is the opposite of love, it goes without saying that you can hate me, but you haven't won until I hate you. Still takes two to tango doesn't it?" I think Dyer would say that it is impossible for me to hate you, but highly possible that I hate me. You are a reflection of the thoughts I hold of me. How I see you is how I see me. Since ego knows nothing of love, hate is it's gift to us - and with hate comes the wrappings of jealousy, envy, loathing, shaming, blaming, etc. It is a never ending spiral of depression. With Love, there is no beginning and no ending.

Keep those comments coming. Perhpas you would care to post a new topic for a good discussion?

Ron.......Dyer is right and I thank you for reminding me. It can be hard to remain focused in Third Dimensional reality. There is so much to remember, but so little that we really need to know. We can't really stop being human can we?

A long time ago, I was told who I was and why I am here, but I wasn't ready to hear it. Head strong, you know. He told me anyway. He told me I needed to know, because there would be a time when it would be very important for me to know that information even if I didn't accept it completely.

Then, as the years passed and my life drifted through my first marriage and a condition called alcoholism, I woke up one morning and discovered that the haze that had covered my life like a blanket had no reality of its own. I was the creator of it all, and if I wanted things to change, I had to adopt a method of thinking that would accompolish that change for me.

Well now, if a so-called advanced soul like me has trouble navigating through third dimwnsional reality, we seek help. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Dyer was my first teacher. Richard Bach my second. There have been others. The key to rising above the fray is not to be found between the covers of endless voulumes of self-help books. Rather, it lies in finding a teacher that will help us remember who we are and why we are hear. After that, I began to visualize that reality until it manifested itself fully

This brings up the idea of our belief systems. We all have them. Even the athiest believes he is an athiest. So, let him believe it.

This brings us full circle to our perceptions creating the reality of our world. The dominant religion here is Christianity, but there are also others. Many others. All who believe they are right, and you know what? They are right. Every one of them is right within the context of their own reality. It is when two opposing realities clash that problems develope.

Do we really have free will? The people in my life are the people I have chosen to share my life with. Right now, it is you, and I came her voluntarily. Really now......did I? Naw....I was led here by that wonderful Force I sometimes call God. There are other names, but what's in a name.

Namaste,
glenn

Hi Glenn and welcome to you, new teacher for me. You wrote

"Well now, if a so-called advanced soul like me has trouble navigating through third dimwnsional reality, we seek help. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Dyer was my first teacher. Richard Bach my second. There have been others."

I am sure, if you allow yourself the latitude, there were many, many teachers prior to Dyer for you, starting with your parents. All people who are in our lives are teachers; it just that we seldom recognize them as such and so we neglect the lessons being shown us. Oh well, those lessons come again into our lives until we do learn them.

The key to rising above the fray is not to be found between the covers of endless voulumes of self-help books. Rather, it lies in finding a teacher that will help us remember who we are and why we are hear. "

For me, the key is not in some teacher or some book, but it is within me and I need go there often in search of it. The books and the teachers merely give me clues in the messages they carry.

"Even the athiest believes he is an athiest. So, let him believe it."

And remember that the atheist even believes in God - otherwise he could not deny God. This is the strange world of duality that we have made.

"Do we really have free will? The people in my life are the people I have chosen to share my life with. Right now, it is you, and I came her voluntarily. Really now......did I? Naw....I was led here by that wonderful Force I sometimes call God. There are other names, but what's in a name."

Your will and the Will of God are but One. So do you have free will? Does God? And the people in your life you have indeed chosen, even projected and some were projected unconsciously as well. Remember every person, especially the ones you try to avoid, are there for a purpose of teaching you something. If nothing more, it is to see them differently. And indeed, we are all here because we chose to be here - circumstance - coincidence? Remember it is all a choice we make. And the word "God" is but a word that recalls a Truth within us all.

Ron......Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but things are like that sometimes. I do, in fact, agree with you completely. I have had a lot of teachers from the cradle to the present, and once I realized the dynamics of llife, it became easier to accept the bad moments as life's speed bumps and the good times as moments to savor. I know that my will and God's will are synonymous and not something to be achieved. I will not qualify this by watering down the previous statement. My primary purpose in being here is to discover who I am, and be that.

As for the world at large, it is beacuse of humanity's mass agreement about how reality is that many of us believe that restriction, denial, limitation and judgement is our only reality, but we do have a choice. What we really need to do is embody the expanded perspective of the essence self, thus transforming the part of ourself that holds our collective beliefs intact. When we release the way we normally perceive reality, our outer reality shifts to reflect the inner change.

To the newbie, this can be a daunting task. 30,000 generations of the collective unconscious can do that to us. That is the strength of sites like this. Not everyone likes us but the majority of us have more similarities than disparities, and the true seeker will come to realize that we have to rise above the fray and reach a higher perspective. We have help, but the power to effect chage comes from within.

I can go on forever on this subject, but I won't. I am sure that we might disagree from time to time, but I am glead that we are on this planet together.

Namaste.......glenn
