Clarification for Skye

I would just like to clarify something on behalf of Skye and Wayne Dyer. Neither Skye nor Wayne had the say in the lyrics of the Saint Francis Prayer/Song. The lyrics had to be changed by public television, even though Dr. Dyer and Skye objected. PBS had a legal reason for changing the lyrics which can not be disclosed, so, how about from now on everyone tries to find out the truth first... some of these postings could be upsetting to someone like Skye or Wayne. Why would you want to make someone upset? If it doesn't make you feel good, and I can't imagine how putting someone down does, why even write or say it?

Hi SDyer...

I appreciate that you stopped by to add your comments on this matter. It's good to get another perspective...always in pursuit of the truth. D

Curious Are the lyrics to the song on Skye's CD the same or different than she sang in the PBS special?

None of these posts can be upsetting to Wayne or Skye unless they want to be upset by them (heck, that is a central theme in Wayne's teachings about never being upset over the opinion of others).

While I don't speak for Ms. Toni Collins (the person who started the anti-Dyer position), I don't think she had any intention to make Skye or Wayne upset, but rather she was entitled to her opinions...just like Wayne, Skye and everyone else on this board and elsewhere are entitled to their opinions.

I am sorry there have been some harsh words said by others towards Wayne or Skye -- I've been reluctant to censor any of the posts so that we can keep a spirit of communication open. You know how everyone is on their own path and while some may have a dimmer level of enlightenment than others -- unless personal attacks are made, I've allowed opposing positions to be posted on this board. Those who are negative towards others always communicate more about themselves than they do about the person's views they are being negative towards.

It's important to note that I make a distinction between attacks on person vs. attacks on arguments. While I hope members of this board keep their attacks on arguments only, I will step in when attacks on character or person are made and a few members have been banned or removed when they couldn't respect those rules.

Please give my best to Wayne, Skye, and family...

As a Catholic, I find Ms. Toni Collins comments to be limiting and close-minded… Skye's version of the song are both Beautiful and very inspiring... Also, I can understand a PBS station wanting the lyrics changed... (The politics of religion and public TV)

Regardless, I think the message of the prayer (found in numerous places on the net i.e. <public domain>) is what’s important…

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much
seek to be consoled as to console,
not so much to be understood as to understand,
not so much to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
it is in dying that we awake to eternal life.

Credited to St. Francis of Assisi, born 1181.

But, just like so many these days, we find those who would divide us by differences rather than unite us by similarities… What makes more sense of our powerful GOD… Separation and alienation based on unique specifics or unconditional love and acceptance? ) What would Jesus do? )

You hit the nail on the head! Wayne Dyer has spent his whole life trying to bring people closer to their creator(whom he calls God). Give him a break.

Thanks for sticking up for them.
