Hello all

I was wondering, if you all could just pick 1 Dr Dyer book to live by, 1 book that had the most simple straight to the point principles to start applying to your life right now, which book would you pick? Some people get confused at this question and may ask, do i follow the 9 principles in Manifest Your Destiny, or do i follow the 10 Secrets to Success and Inner Peace, do i follow the Dyer Dozen, or do i work on the principles in Power of Intention. On and on there are 10 secrets to this and 9 principles to that, 4 pathways to get there, and a dozen how to's
Just curious to see what titles are resonating with most people.

Excellent idea OneSong!

I have one Dyer basic tenet that is a central theme for my thought process and self-talk

"Whatever I think about, expands."

As for which book is my favorite --- after you've read them all, and I have, you begin to see the same messages in all of them. Each one that I read served me a different time in my life and therefore each one was the right one at that time.

idea Today, I would rather read something new from Dyer that has nothing to do with his current dozen philosophies. 8) It would be cool to see if Dyer could apply his spiritual principles to topics such as Leadership or Team building or Salesmanship or more "business" topics rather than self-help. ...And if Dyer doesn't do it, the writer in me will most likely do it in this decade.

In 1984 I was suffering with severe anxiety/panic disorder. Ordered Attacking Anxiety program and within that program Lucinda Bassett spoke of Dr. Wayne Dyer's 'Your Erroneous Zones". My life has forever been changed! This cassette that cost only ten dollars, was so helpful that I have written Dr. Dyer on several occasions to thank him for being my mentor; long distance that is. His work has helped me in so many areas of my life. With that one tape and Attacking Anxiety, I was able to reclaim my life, which at that time was severaly limited. I highly recommend this book/cassette for just about everyone who has had to deal with disfunctional families. The next time you feel like gracing someone with a present, make it this book. You will be helping them in ways you never imagined. Dr. Dyer is a God send, his work saved my emotional state of mind. His work helped me to return to my Church and to be closer to God. His work is blessed

I'm one of those people who is constantly cycling through Wayne's audio stuff. My iPod is loaded with a few of his programs and I find that they are amazing to just throw out in the background at a low volume. The ones I've got on there right now include "The Secrets of the Power of Intention", "It's Never Crowded Along the Extra Mile" and "There is a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem." I'd highly recommend all of them.

Also, each morning I wake up to "101 Ways to Transform Your Life." What an amazing way to get up! I've probably listened to that one 50+ times.

Good stuff...

That is a great idea, I do hope more folks read your post and do the same with their ipods. Is Wayne Dyer the best or what! This man's 'Erroneous Zones' just about saved my emotional state of mind back in 1994, I am a much happier person because of that one tape.

Hi!

For me, so far the book is Power of Intention. It's those seven faces that really speak to me. Words are so powerful, and these are seven well chosen words, although I sometimes mix up one and call it acceptance.

Somewhere on another strand there is a long discussion of the fact that Wayne Dyer uses so many quotes and it is put forth that he is not original.
I am glad he is so well read. By his use of quotes, poems & phrases of other authors, he has saved me the time of searching all of that out. He then gives us a taste of what is out there and we get to follow up by learning more from the original authors of the quotes if we choose to take the time or pass and just read his books as is. Truly, very few people come up with completely original ideas. That is rare genius. Einstein, Isaac Newton, Galileo, The Wright Brothers, come to mind as people who had new ideas to offer.

I think Dr. Dyer's talent lies not in "originality", although he, like everyone else has his own unique perspective. I think his genius lies in his ability to communicate so effectively. I've read a few of his other books and they contain similar messages to Power of Intention. And that's great. To learn something and integrate it, you need many repetitions. The average school aged child needs at least 40- 80 repetitions of a concept before it becomes linked and a part of their World View. I'm guessing we as adults would need more, not less repetitions as we are generally less malleable and more set in our ways.

This is what Wayne does so beautifully. He presents and re-presents ideas, but always slightly differently, with a different example, quote or story, such as the Shaiah story, to illustrate the point.

This was a very interesting ? Thanks!

Hope everyone is having a nice day-

The one CD which I seem to keep going back to, and listening to, over and over is Dr. Wayne's "Your Life Begins Now" its a 2 part CD.

This CD seems to be different from the others, at least to me it does. The message really seems to resonate with me Most of the CDs are kind of the same, with the same message and repetative.

"Your Life begins Now", is very gritty and blunt, direct.

The phrase or quote I Love the best from that CD, is

"There is no bullshit, like new age bullshit, because new age bullshit, is the bullshit, that says, "I am spiritually superior to you!"
Now thats the EGO talking BIG TIME !" DWD
